Summary

'Young Dick' wooden schooner 162 tons [wooden 2 mast schooner, 171 gross, 162 net tons. ON58732, 106.5 x 23.8 x 12.9. Built 1869 Burton Stratha, Lincolnshire and originally registered at Goole. In 1875 registered at Wellington. In 1886, when owned by John Hugh Rogers of Maryborough Queensland, the register was closed with 'Believed to have been lost at sea although no direct evidence can be obtained'. This image is from the A.D. Edwardes Collection of about 8,000 photographs, mostly of sailing ships from around the world, taken between about 1865 and 1920. Mounted in 91 albums, the photographs are arranged by country of ownership, with some special volumes such as 'Shipping at Port Adelaide' and 'South Australian outports'. Additional information, giving the history of the ships where known, has been provided by maritime historian, Ron Parsons.
