Durham (Sunderland) Owners: Thomas Potts, registered Sunderland. 1872 Walter Turnbull, registered Wellington; 1886 JH Cock (Nelson) and N Reid (Wellington); 1888 AW Mackay, registered Sydney; Nov. 1889 NCA Young, sugar planter Bundaberg, registered Brisbane; March 1897 Union SS of New Zealand Ltd., with the intention of converting to a hulk but sold for further commerical use; Oct. 1898 John Harrison, Aratapu, registered Auckland. Wrecked about 17 miles south of Kaipara Harbour New Zealand Oct. 17, 1902]

This image is from the A.D. Edwardes Collection of about 8,000 photographs, mostly of sailing ships from around the world, taken between about 1865 and 1920. Mounted in 91 albums, the photographs are arranged by country of ownership, with some special volumes such as 'Shipping at Port Adelaide' and 'South Australian outports'. Additional information, giving the history of the ships where known, has been provided by maritime historian, Ron Parsons.
