The wooden schooner 'Coringle', 99 tons, in an unidentified harbour. [wooden aux. 3 mast schooner ON120761. 96 gross, 76 net tons. 76.4 x 23.8 x 7.0 built 1909 Woodley's Ltd. Berry's Bay North Sydney. Engine 25hp. Lengthened 1918 = 128 gross, 99 net tons. 105.7 x 24.0 x 6.4. Re-engined 1938 now twin screw auxiliary schooner. 132 gross, 95 net tons. Owners Orbost Shipping Co. Ltd. Registered Melbourne. 1918 Rosenfeld Hillas and Co. Pty. Ltd. August 1922 JA Olsen and others, registered Port Adelaide, then Austral Plaster Co. Ltd. requisitioned by government during WW2. Re-registered Port Adelaide in September 1946 by R. Fricker and Co. and others. By 1969 was operating out of Darwin for others.]

From the volume titled 'South Australian Owned Coasters, Part I'.

This image is from the A.D. Edwardes Collection of about 8,000 photographs, mostly of sailing ships from around the world, taken between about 1865 and 1920. Mounted in 91 albums, the photographs are arranged by country of ownership, with some special volumes such as 'Shipping at Port Adelaide' and 'South Australian outports'. Additional information, giving the history of the ships where known, has been provided by maritime historian, Ron Parsons.
