Summary

The wooden schooner 'Post Boy', 59 tons, wrecked at Arno Bay [wooden 2 mast schooner, 62 tons, 77.2 x 18.8 x 7.2. Built 1874. John Lowen, Port Adelaide. Owners: John Kuhl and partners, registered Port Adelaide. Foundered in St. Vincent Gulf Dec. 15, 1876. Raised and repaired, reregistered Thomas Watson and JH Bowker. Customs register closed in 1907 with 'totally wrecked'. See 'Ketches of South Australia' 3rd edition 1978]

From the volume titled 'South Australian Owned Coasters, Part I'.

This image is from the A.D. Edwardes Collection of about 8,000 photographs, mostly of sailing ships from around the world, taken between about 1865 and 1920. Mounted in 91 albums, the photographs are arranged by country of ownership, with some special volumes such as 'Shipping at Port Adelaide' and 'South Australian outports'. Additional information, giving the history of the ships where known, has been provided by maritime historian, Ron Parsons.
