Summary

The wooden barque 'Wild Wave', 223 tons, in an unidentified harbour [wooden 3 mast barque, 251 gross, 237 net tons, later 258 gross, 223 net tons. ON74462. 119.1 x 27.1 x 12.0. Built 1875 Liverpool, reportedly bought on the stocks by John Fisher in 1875. Owners: John Fisher, registered Hobart, 1876, later the same year Fisher and Facy. c.1909 The Hobart Timber Co., who enroll ship at Port Adelaide, in May 1913. Wrecked near Stanley, NW Tasmania, June 4, 1923].

From the volume titled 'Australian Owned Sailing Vessels'.

This image is from the A.D. Edwardes Collection of about 8,000 photographs, mostly of sailing ships from around the world, taken between about 1865 and 1920. Mounted in 91 albums, the photographs are arranged by country of ownership, with some special volumes such as 'Shipping at Port Adelaide' and 'South Australian outports'. Additional information, giving the history of the ships where known, has been provided by maritime historian, Ron Parsons.
