Summary

The wooden ketch 'Fanny Fisher' in an unidentified port [wooden 3 mast barque, 219 tons. ON32488, 94.0 x 25.3 x 14.2. Built J Nicholson Manning River NSW. In 1847 Lloyd's Register 1906. Owned in Sydney throughout her long life, being broken up c.1907. Traded to many parts of the world and in her early days frequently visited Mauritius. See 'Sail in the South', but note built on Manning River, not Macleay as stated in that publication. See also memories of an early captain in Australasian Shipping Record various issues, 1981].

From the volume titled 'Australian Owned Sailing Vessels'.

This image is from the A.D. Edwardes Collection of about 8,000 photographs, mostly of sailing ships from around the world, taken between about 1865 and 1920. Mounted in 91 albums, the photographs are arranged by country of ownership, with some special volumes such as 'Shipping at Port Adelaide' and 'South Australian outports'. Additional information, giving the history of the ships where known, has been provided by maritime historian, Ron Parsons.
