Summary

The iron 4 masted ship 'County of Linlithgow', 2202 tons, in an unidentified harbour [iron 4 mast ship, 2202 tons, ON93380, 286.9 x 43.5 x 24.1. Built 1887 (5) Barclay, Curle and Co. Ltd. Glasgow. Owners R&J Craig, registered Glasgow c.1907 to Chilian owners without change of name and later fitted with twin auxiliary diesel engines and became Katherine, a bulk petrol carrier owned in the Philippines].

From the volume titled 'British Owned Iron and Steel Ships (IV) Masted Barques and Ships'.

This image is from the A.D. Edwardes Collection of about 8,000 photographs, mostly of sailing ships from around the world, taken between about 1865 and 1920. Mounted in 91 albums, the photographs are arranged by country of ownership, with some special volumes such as 'Shipping at Port Adelaide' and 'South Australian outports'. Additional information, giving the history of the ships where known, has been provided by maritime historian, Ron Parsons.
