Summary

The iron barque 'Loch Bredan', 982 tons, at Port Adelaide. The vessel was lost on a passage from Port Adelaide to Capetown with bales of compressed fodder. Captain Williams was accompanied by his wife on that passage [iron 3 mast barque, 982 tons, ON86201. 203.4 x 33.6 x 19.9. Built 1882 (7) Dobie and Co. Glasgow. Owners: James Sproat, registered Liverpool. missing, last seen in September 1903].

From the volume titled 'British Owned Iron and Steel Barques (II)'.

This image is from the A.D. Edwardes Collection of about 8,000 photographs, mostly of sailing ships from around the world, taken between about 1865 and 1920.
