The iron barque 'Lady Penrhyn', 839 tons, in an unidentified port. [Launched 13 September 1875 by A.Stephen & Sons, Glasgow for J. Richards m.d.Bangor, North Wales. Wrecked October 29, 1909 at Puerto Gallegos, Argentina.] [iron 3 mast barque, 839 gross tons. ON74464, 197.7 x 31.6 x 19.1. Built 1875 (9) A Stephen and Sons, Glasgow. Owners: John Richards. Registered Liverpool, then CG Edwards]. An English researcher suggests that the port may be Bristol.

From the volume titled 'British Owned Iron and Steel Barques (II)'.

This image is from the A.D. Edwardes Collection of about 8,000 photographs, mostly of sailing ships from around the world, taken between about 1865 and 1920. Mounted in 91 albums, the photographs are arranged by country of ownership, with some special volumes such as 'Shipping at Port Adelaide' and 'South Australian outports'. Additional information, giving the history of the ships where known, has been provided by maritime historian, Ron Parsons.
