Summary

The four masted iron ship 'Falls of Foyers', 2009 tons, docked in an unidentified port [iron 4 mast ship, 2009 tons, ON87653, 274.1 x 41.1 x 24.0. Built 1883 (4) Russell and Co. Greenock. Owners Ship Falls of Foyers Ltd. (Wright and Breakenridge) later Wright, Graham and Co. registered Glasgow. Drops from registers in 1898. Wrecked 16 Jan. 1899 Heligoland on a voyage from Junin to Hamburg with nitrate].

One of the ships owned by The Falls Line / Wright, Graham and Co., Glasgow.

This image is from the A.D. Edwardes Collection of about 8,000 photographs, mostly of sailing ships from around the world, taken between about 1865 and 1920. Mounted in 91 albums, the photographs are arranged by country of ownership, with some special volumes such as 'Shipping at Port Adelaide' and 'South Australian outports'. Additional information, giving the history of the ships where known, has been provided by maritime historian, Ron Parsons.
