Summary

The four masted iron barque (ex ship) 'County of Inverness', 1636 tons, at Port Adelaide [iron 4 mast ship, later barque, 1716 tons. ON76733, 266.6 x 38.8 x 23.6. Built 1877 (1) Barclay, Curle and Co. Glasgow. Owners R&J Craig, registered Glasgow, 1899 sold to Shaw, Savill and Co, then sold foreign and renamed Dora and finally under French flag as Carmen, and fitted with auxiliary engine].

One of the ships owned by Craigs County Line / R. and J. Craig, Glasgow.

This image is from the A.D. Edwardes Collection of about 8,000 photographs, mostly of sailing ships from around the world, taken between about 1865 and 1920. Mounted in 91 albums, the photographs are arranged by country of ownership, with some special volumes such as 'Shipping at Port Adelaide' and 'South Australian outports'.
