Summary

The steel ship 'Brabloch', 2062 tons, in an unidentified port. She is renamed 'Vinga' in 1917 and broken up in 1924. [steel ship, 2062 tons, ON96072, 278.7 x 41.1 x 24.2. Built 1889 (6) Barclay, Curle and Co. Glasgow. Owners: RK Holms-Kerr, (Aitken, Lilburn & Co. mgrs) reg. Glasgow: later Brabloch Ship Co. (JR Cuthbertson) reg. Glasgow sold 1912 to Norway and renamed 'Vinga' and became Swedish without change of name in 1917. Breakers in 1922].

One of the ships owned by The 'Loch' Line / Aitken, Lilburn and Co., Glasgow.

This image is from the A.D. Edwardes Collection of about 8,000 photographs, mostly of sailing ships from around the world, taken between about 1865 and 1920. Mounted in 91 albums, the photographs are arranged by country of ownership, with some special volumes such as 'Shipping at Port Adelaide' and 'South Australian outports'. Additional information, giving the history of the ships where known, has been provided by maritime historian, Ron Parsons.
