Historical information

(Godson number 228A/10).

According to the 'Murray River Pilot: Goolwa to Renmark' by Baker and Reschke, this was originally a boundary rider's hut on the old Bookpurnong run, where it was used by stockmen including William Loxton, from whom the name has derived. This photograph was published in the 'Observer' newspaper, 14 December, 1917.
