Historical information

Registered at Sydney, 1875, official number 73286. Built at Echuca, 1875, by C. Earnshaw. Charles Earnshaw 1845 - 1930, son of Samuel, a Yorkshire 'Stovegrate maker' who established a Foundry in Sandridge, early Melbourne. Young Charles arrived with his parents via America to Port Phillip in 1853. He later built an early Automobile in Echuca, parts of which remain in the Port Precinct at the 'old' Police Station museum. A Public 'Ancestry' family tree has been created for Charles and his fathers family at Sandridge (Port Melbourne) and Echuca, by 'Lachiemac'. (Godson number 96A/2/8).
