General notes

According to Ronald Parsons, 'Portee' was owned by Mr. Heywood, and was thought to be converted from an old life boat from 'Hesperus'. Fitted with single cylinder engine, and relaunched on the Murray in 1874, was one of the first really small paddle steamers.

Photoprint is faded and blotched.
