Historical information

Registered at Port Adelaide, 1868, registered in 1866 as a barge, official number 55590. Built at Port Adelaide, 1866 (Godson number 183A/1). It is believed Arthur Henry Strachan died from an accident on this boat, the Jupiter, at Milang in Sept 1919 aged 41 years, leaving behind a son, Robert John Strachan who was (born in Oct 1916) three years old.
