The artist has named the people present at this picnic, on verso of photograph of his painting copied by S. Solomon. From right to left: group of 4 near tree at rear: Mrs Wallace, Miss McNicoll, Mrs Benson, Mrs Hargraves; group of 2 nearby: Miss Wallace, Miss Alice Andrews; 2 young people by creek: Mary and Ruth Minchin (artist's sisters); group of 5 in centre: Mrs McNicoll, Miss Andrews, Miss Cole, Miss McPherson, Miss Barbara Andrews; group at left: the 2 cabmen feeding off the scraps. The picnic was given by Mrs Andrews and Mrs Wallace. (Minchin's sketch PRG 119/38/4 was done on the same occasion.).
