Summary

20 November 1837 from F.W. Collard: on unfavourable impression of South Australia created by - Fowler (sent to South Australia by the Admiralty). Comments on choice of the site of Adelaide and Light's wish to resign his appointment. On plans made in London for the engraving and printing of a picture by Light. No longer a prospect of Light receiving the command of a vessel providing steam communication with India. Details receipts and payments made on Light's behalf. Note on a case of South Australian plants sent by Light to England. Intention of Light's sister to return to India. Developments in the use of steam power for ships and railways. 4pp.
