General notes

One of a series of photographs which can be located by doing a number search on D 7893. Additional information relating to the boat can be found with D 7893(L) which is described on the Archival database.

Historical information

The boat was built by Searle's boat builders at Port Adelaide for Jack Woodrow of Milang, and launched by railway crane over Goolwa Wharf in 1936. Originally used to carry passengers and cargo between Milang and Narrung, it was subsequently used as a fishing, pleasure and salvage boat by various owners (1940-1981) until purchased by current owner, Colin Hill. It has subsequently been restored and is used for boating on the Murray River out of Mannum. [Information supplied by Colin Hill and Victor Woodrow.].
