Letter, dated 9 November 1919, written just prior to departure from England by Ross Smith to Dora Horwood, and then carried on the historic flight from England to Australia. Also included is the original envelope bearing a 'first aerial mail' stamp, plus an additional envelope from the Prime Minister's Department, in which the letter was forwarded to Dora Horwood.
