Diary relating the voyage to South Australia aboard the 'Branken Moor', settlement in South Australia and early sheep farming experiences in the Gawler Ranges. It includes descriptions in November 1839 of Alexander Tolmer, the future Police Commissioner, being drunk and disorderly; and his journal of a trip to Mattwarrangalla in 1863.
