Part of a collection of photographs taken by Eric Arthur, a Mount Gambier photographer.

Historical information

Betty Elsmere Naismith was the daughter of Ernest and Hilda Naismith. She married Hedley Duncan Buchanan at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Mount Gambier on 4th February, 1950. Hedley Buchanan was the grandson of Christina Smith, first white settler in the South East at Rivoli Bay; he was also a great-grandson of Duncan Buchanan, born 1819 at Glendaruel, Scotland, another early pioneer of Mount Gambier.
