Summary

Delivery of 1000th Kelvinator mobile refrigerator to United States Army at a factory site in Wakefield Street, Adelaide, 16 October 1944. The mobile refrigerators were used by the U.S. Army during WWII in the Pacific Area. Kelvinator Managing Director William Queale is standing second from left. According to a researcher, William Queale was the founder and Managing Director of Kelvinator Australia until his death 25th December 1951. The other civilian in the photo is Frank (later Sir Frank) Perry, probably acting in his capacity as the local representative of the Ministry of Munitions.
