Summary

A group of some of Australia's leading tennis players pictured outside John Martin's store. (From left) Frank Sedgman, Andres Gimeno, Ashley Cooper, Mal Anderson, Lew Hoad, Ken Rosewall and Mervyn Rose. [Additional information supplied by A. Tasiopoulos:] The tournament was played on January 8-13 1962 and in the singles final Rosewall defeated Gimeno 7-9 6-3 12-10 6-4. The same seven players in the photo also played a tournament in March of 1962 in Adelaide. In this tournament, which was played during March 14-17 1962 at St. Clair Stadium in Woodville, the final was between Lew Hoad and Ken Rosewall and Hoad won 7-5 6-8 6-4.
