Summary

National Gallery, North Terrace showing the new facade completed in 1937. This new look building was officially opened after it was extended on August 16, 1937. The Art Gallery of South Australia was founded in 1881 and was opened by Prince Albert Victor and Prince George later George Fifth of Great Britain. The present building dates from 1900 and was extended in 1936 and then again in 1962.
