Summary

[General description] A crowd, some dressed as pioneers, has gathered to witness the unveiling of the Pioneer's Memorial, Kingscote by the Governor Sir Winston Dugan. Mrs MacLagan of Swanbourne, W.A., a grand daughter of the late Thomas Hudson Beare, one of the pioneers who landed on Kangaroo Island 27 July 1836 from the barque "Duke of York", laid the foundation stone.
