Summary

Regatta scene, Queen's Wharf, Port Adelaide on New Year's Day, 1906. A celebratory regatta was also held in Port Adelaide for the opening of the "new port". It was reported in the Register 18 October, 1890 page 30b. This photograph depicts Port Adelaide looking towards Queen's Wharf from McLaren Wharf. The edge of the wharf is lined with school children, the boys wearing straw boaters. A group of ladies can be seen in a rowing boat and the SS "Petrel" is also moored alongside the wharf.
