Summary

The steamer "Paringa" leaving the Outer Harbour, South Australia on her ill-fated voyage. She was bound for Japan in January 1936. After taking in tow the oil tanker "Vincus" a storm developed off the Victorian coast and the "Paringa" lost touch with the tanker. Nothing further was heard of her and she is believed to have gone down with all hands. A Mail Steamer can be seen at the wharf in the foreground.
