Summary

Political cartoon: satirical drawing of a statue to G.W. Goyder, presumed to be by 'Pasquin' [ie E.R. Mitford], commenting on Goyder's methodology as Surveyor-General. The words 'Advertiser Express' are on the columns of the plinth, with a poem on the central panel: 'Nursery Rhymes for the Land Office. Ride a cock horse, the K.W. Street Cross - to see Valuator get on a fine Horse - his thumbs and his fingers he puts to his nose - and values by vagueness wherever he goes. - Ride a Cock Horse to Tipara Cross - to see little G. on a Moonta Horse - survey a Hill for a Mallee Tree - and make claims inconspicuous for J.T. - Ride a Cock Horse to Land Office Cross - to see Surveyor on a wooden horse - and H.B.T.S. with his Capital Key - Two bigger Rogues you never see'.
