Summary

Flax Mill showing where the linseed was taken from the straw, the shed full of sheaved straw, the retting tanks behind the shed, the straw stacked on timber, and the flax being bleached and dried in the field. Nearly all the women employees were of German origin from nearby farms. The Mill ceased to operate by 1887.
