Summary

The District Council office, Saddleworth. Edward Eyre reported favourably on the area and pastoral leases were issues soon after. Mining increased the traffic from Adelaide. The name came from Saddleworth Lodge pastoral station after the Yorkshire birthplace of the station owner James Master who also built the Saddleworth Hotel.
