Summary

St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, about a mile from Normanville, on the Gorge Road opposite John Cornish's flour and bark mill. The foundation stone was laid in 1856 and was completed in 1858. Early settlers included many Irish Catholics who were keen to have their own church. The church's position is well out of Yankalilla on the road to Rapid Bay.
