Summary

Government House entrance gateway and Lodge. In 1874 the guardhouse and gates were removed and re-built when the City Bridge was widened. The new guardhouse included an elephant loggia and a covered open sided walkway with arches along one side. The loggia, which provided shelter behind the colonnade, was demolished in 1926 when the road was widened again.
