Summary

Cape Borda Lighthouse and homestead, children playing in the yard and on the verandah. An identical view is at B 36909. Cape Borda Lighthouse on Kangaroo Island was built in 1858 and is the only square stone lighthouse in South Australia. It was built to guide sailing ships coming out of the Roaring Forties trade winds and directing them through Investigator Straits towards Adelaide.
