Summary

"Benacre", Glen Osmond was originally a single storey house built on the section in 1836. This was added to in 1846. The property was named Benacre by Mayor of Adelaide Henry Scott in 1876. It was named after his wife's ancestral home Benacre Hall in Suffolk. The photograph shows a gracious two storey bluestone house with side verandahs and a central portico. Four children and two dogs can be seen next to a flower bed on the sweeping drive.
