A float depicting Queen Adelaide with Maids of Honours at the Floral Pageant, Adelaide, 18 September 1936. The lady seated on the throne as Queen Adelaide is the Lady Mayoress Mrs Kathleen Agnes Irwin. The float was designed by her husband Mayor James Irwin (an architect) and won first prize. The city council presented her with a silver salver and the mayor received an inscribed photograph.
