Summary

[General description] This faded view shows the Yorketown Post Office, a single storey limestone building with red brick quoins and verandah pillars. It is also an agency for the Commonwealth Savings Bank of Australia. The young tree in front of the Post Office has a tree guard on which is mounted a plaque with the following inscription: 'In memory of the late Private James Willis Plummer, 10th Battalion, A.I.F., who fell in the landing at Gallipoli, April 25, 1915, aged 20 years.' [On back of photograph] 'Yorketown Post Office / 1932 / Presented by W.H.O. Sexton'.
