Summary

Watercolour and gouache painting of the paddle steamer 'Kangaroo'. Notes on the back read: 'Possibly one of the three wooden Australian paddle steamers registered under this name in the seventies [1870s] or later. This painting is probably of the 'Kangaroo' which operated in New South Wales, Tasmania and finally Victoria (see "Paddle-steamers of Australia" by R.H. Parsons, 1967). The painting may have been done at Melbourne'.
