Summary

[General description] Erected around 1860 on top of one of Blanchetown's hills, this substantial building is built from local stone. It appears to be rather grand for a country Post Office. It is thought that It was originally intended to be a railway station but the hoped for line from Adelaide went to Morgan instead, adversely affecting Blanchetown's prosperity. [On back of photograph] 'Blanchetown Post Office / 1932 / Reproduced in Chronicle for July 28, 1932'.
