General notes

Numbers 29 to 35, of 35 photographs relating to Peter Clarn and his work as a plasterer and modeler, showing various scenes of pipe-laying around Adelaide and examples of cement form work and brick work. Mr Clarn was an organiser for the Plasterers' Society.

Historical information

Peter Clarn was a plasterer and modeler and this collection of photographs relates to concrete work, primarily concrete pipes and decorative pillars, at a factory in Kilkenny and construction sites on streets around Adelaide. There are several concrete company names referred to in Kilkenny over the years including Concrete and Steel Ltd., Kilkenny Pipe Works, and The South Australian Reinforced Concrete Company. Clarn was an Organiser for the Plasterers' Society of South Australia. In 1926 Clarn made a maquette of Sir Ross Smith from plaster on wire mesh, as part of preparations for the Sir Ross Smith Memorial at Cresswell Gardens.
