Annette with 'The Great Swindle' by Pierre Lemaitre (2015). From State Library of South Australia Facebook post, 19 December 2016: "One of the best reads from the whole year. An intriguing story set against the backdrop of the chaos in France immediately after the First World War. Normally we hear very little about surviving soldiers and tend to focus on glorifying the dead. The chaos after the war and the lack of government or society support for these broken men, expected to fend for themselves, is graphically portrayed in this novel which has the most marvelous twist. - Annette"
