Three photographs of the 1875 Adelaide Cup won by H. A. (possibly Harry Albert) Chapman at the Adelaide Amateur Athletic Club 15th meeting for field sports held on Saturday 18 September 1875 at the South Australian Cricketing Oval. H.A. Chapman won the Adelaide Cup first event (100 yards flat) with a time of 10 seconds, winning a field glass as first prize. H.A. Chapman also won the second event, 200 yards hurdles with a time of 31.5 seconds, winning a silver inkstand as first prize. The third and final event of the Adelaide Cup, 440 yards flat, was won by T. Ey. H.A. Chapman was declared the winner of the Adelaide Cup, in addition to taking the first prize in the first and second events. Prizes were distributed by Lady Morphett. Chapman took the Cup with him when he immigrated to the United States.
