Historical information

Son of James and Mercy Wilkinson, Cyril was born in Jamestown, South Australia in 1891. He was living in Unley and working as a storekeeper when he enlisted with the AIF, aged 24 years, on 15 February 1916. He served with the 48th Battalion, 5th Reinforcement, embarking from Adelaide, South Australia, on board the HMAT Anchises on 28 August 1916. He served in the Western Front, and was killed in action on 20 February 1917.
