Historical information

James Trengove was born in Cornwall in 1841. At the age of 24 he emigrated to Australia. He married Catherine Warren in 1871. When land in the Bute area was opened up for settlement, James and Catherine were granted a block of land in the hundred of Wiltunga which they named Warrenville. They were parents to twelve children, nine of whom survived to adulthood. 'Lanner Park' was the first of the farms purchased for James' sons. It became home to James (born 1873) and his wife Lily, nee Treloar. They married in 1912. Lily was born at Kadina in 1882, the youngest daughter of Bennett and Martha Treloar. James and Lily had three children. James Allan (known as Allan), Ralph Treloar and Thelma Annie. Neither Allan nor Ralph ever married.[Source: 'A Leap of Faith.
