Historical information

Edwardian-style sandstone mansion built 1912-13, designed and built by Bishop John Henry Norton as the Catholic presbytery. After his death in 1923, the building was converted into a convent and boarding school for the St Joseph's Catholic Girls school until around 1973. In the 1980s the building was sold and renovated as a Bed and Breakfast and also location for Murder Mystery Parties. It was re-named 'St Cecilia' after the patron saint of music. The building is now closed to the public.
