Summary

[General description] This composite photograph shows shipping at Port Adelaide. City buildings can be made out in the distance across the water [On back of photograph] 'About 1872 / Looking West across the Port River towards Le Fevre Peninsula showing the bridge which was superseded a few years later by the Jervis Bridge / The vessels at the wharf are the brig 'Phillis' (left) and the barque' Southern Belle'(right). On the extreme right is the bow of the 'White Eagle' / Copper Company's Wharf in foreground / Copied from a photograph in posession of Mr. A.D. Edwards'.
