Historical information

Richard William Davis arrived in South Australia in August 1840 on board the ship the 'Louisa'. He was a Government signal-man, Signal Station, West Terrace, Adelaide. He was born in London on 12 August 1809. He married Mary Craigie (1813-1899) in Adelaide on 25 February 1841. He died at his residence at the Signal Station on 22 January 1878, aged 69 years.
