Summary

Three views of the ships including the windjammer 'Admiral Karpfanger' approaching Port Germein to take on a load of wheat. This proved to be the last voyage for the ship, which disappeared en route to Britain after leaving on 8th February 1938.The photos were taken by Ivy Brenton whilst visiting Port Germein on as part of a 'Gulf trip' aboard the M.V. 'Moonta'. The first ship is not the 'Admiral Karpfanger' as it is a three masted ship.

Historical information

Ivy May Brenton was born on 25 August 1918 to Walter and Ada Brenton. She married Herbert George Lea at St Margaret's Church, Woodville, on 41 May 1941. The photographs were taken on her Kodak box brownie camera.
