Summary

Portrait of Charles Giles, who founded Grove Hill Nursery at Norton Summit in the early years of the colony. A researcher has established that Charles Giles arrived on the the 'Recovery', September 1839, so he could not have founded his nursery in 1838 as stated on the photograph. Another researcher has stated that the nursery wasn't established until 1846.
