Summary

Lantern slide of a page from the Officer's attendance roll book of the first Independent Order of Rechabites Society, Southern Cross Rechabite Tent, established in Adelaide in May 1840 and lasting until November 1843 when the society was dissolved due to financial troubles. The roll marks attendence from June to September: 'Past Chief Ruler: John Hart; Chief Ruler: John Nowland; Deputy Chief Ruler: G. Edwards; Secretary: Thomas Rusher Hart; Stewards: C. Elphinston;, William Dodd; Levite: Richard Dodd; Supporters: J.R. Rundle, G. Hunter, G. Dawson, William Martin; Inside Guardian: George Robertson; Outside Guardian: Theodore Harvey'.
